Becoming Up-to-Date in 2010 (Refection)
I did get a response from ATT and they graciously unlocked my phone. Nokia E71x is a great phone (if you can use it) by being a bona fide smart phone and its capabilities. The price went down recently as it is being phased out in the presence of E72 and E73 in the market and I got one and really like it. I am very sure I will get one more. I need one unlocked and one is okay as locked (let’s not push our luck with ATT technical support. I might need them someday). I currently have three cellphones for professional use and they will be upgraded again soon. I think (but not sure until tested fully) I will finish by owning a Virgin Mobile Rumor 2 as personal phone for doing basic phone calls, texting and email use. The keyboard should work out fine for my purposes. I am sure I will upgrade my Gravity to a Blackberry and only one of my E71x will be in use regularly. I think this combination will do the tasks I need and will describe in the future. My Netbook works well as a 95% RSS Reader used daily and 5% for writing blog posts once-a-week. I am ready to retire my laptops and think of replacing them with a Netbook. The small screen proved not to be a problem at all. I do most of my work on a 8.9″ screen and use my laptops for watching Hulu and some Internet. A Netbook will do great in that function but I cannot find one with HDMI connection to plug into TV. That is my last hurdle and I will be up-to-date with 2010 technology. I think once I am done upgrading the phones I mentioned, I have few phones left to evaluate and have to move into top-of-the-line stuff. I think I just buy them inactivated to try and then return them. I see no other way of evaluating devices that cost $500 to $900 each. That should work out fine and frankly there is no other way of doing it. I am hesitant to trust Cnet or any other review not based on actual use for a reasonable period of time and cannot make the same mistake myself. I have to use the devices hands-on till I have a definite opinion or a few.
